In today's podcast, I talk about the state of social media we currently see it, what's working, what's not working on social media, and some of the most important trends for your veterinary practice.
Some of the most significant changes we have seen on social media have been typically in and surrounding content.
We see changes in each one of these areas:
How content is shared
How content is created
and How content is distributed
but the biggest change we've seen and continue to see is how people engage with content.
Most platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram have for the most part been pretty consistent with their algorithm for the last 3 years and haven't had any major groundbreaking changes to their algorithm. We also see that across platforms there are different behaviors now. We are moving more towards niche type of content rather than personal relationship content of people you actually know. Creating content that is general and vague is just not going to perform well. Niching down to very specific audiences is going to be more beneficial to your practice. Data hygiene is now also something to really focus on as a post-IOS 14 time. We need to make sure we have good conversion data you can give these platforms to know how you are performing which is your top priority. The second priority is learning to niching down to your specific subgroups within groups.
